The investigators also found out that not less than 50% of patients with major depressive disorder almost completely kept their capacity for job, though they could feel some temporary psychological discomfort due to their disease.

  9. Financial consultants and accountants.

    This profession needs titanic responsibility.

    And if something is wrong and the customer loses money, you can hear towards yourself not just the unflattering remarks but the raised voice.

  10. Salesmen.

    Though this profession is on the 10th place in this list, it threatens its workers none the less number of reasons for depression and stress.

    Many salesmen work on commission that means you are never sure enough how much money you will get this time.

    When you work to get a definite result you are to spend a lot of energy and strengths. You are to be well possessed while speaking with the customers all the time.

What should the workers do to overcome the depression?


Belgian scientists have found that the discrepancy between the skills and knowledge of the job title can lead to the true depression.

If you came across with such a situation you need:

  1. To understand the problem.

    If it seems to you that your level of knowledge doesn’t correspond to this appointment and you feel yourself an unfulfilled person, you have to solve this dilemma but not to avoid it.

    The worst thing is to put up with it.

    Feeling of your unrealized potential and dissatisfaction won’t disappear and you will have to face it over and over. That’s why one should look at this dilemma all over again.

    Do you think you are worth better things? Then think about why you don’t get them.

    Probably you aren’t firm and persistent enough. Current events forced you. Or probably the thing is that you feel comfortable yourself where you are right now.

    Making the core of the problem clear one has to find the way out.

    In this case “self-treatment” will be enough.

  2. Find the hobby which can fill in an existent emptiness.

    An emptiness which appeared as a result of unrealized potential at your job can be completely filled in.

    Under no circumstances never give up and don’t let your skills to be unused.

    You like to write but your job has nothing to do with this activity.

    Then find the time and write taking the back seat for your dissatisfaction and continue creating!

    Direct your creative ideas and creative approach to its implementation.

    Use it and don’t let it die away.

    It seems to you that your mental abilities aren’t completely used.

    Then use them yourself by all means. For example: learn a new language, master an interesting profession.
    There will never be too much for you.

  3. To start an “office romance”.

    The next possible step to get rid of emptiness is to try to find pleasant moments in your job.

    That’s why a good way out from this situation is to start an “office romance” and not in a standard way.

    And no matter whether it will be an instant pleasant flirt with your clients (of course it should not step out of line and interfere with your concrete responsibilities) or friendship with your colleague, love to the flowers in the cabinet and thus caring for them or a new album of the well-known singer which you listen to while going to job.

    Switch on your imagination and you will certainly find that thing which you like at your work.

    Try to find something that will make you laugh or just simply entertain.

  4. To change the job.

    Well, if it seems to you that none of the advices can help you to put up with depression, nothing can make you joyful and satisfied, then another question appears: Will you probably change your job?

    Feeling of despair will disappear and you will have a new goal, new appointment, new skills and suggestions.

The best job for the depressed people is that one where you can solve all your personal problems and realize your potential as a true professional.

After you start receiving the desired results from your job it will be much easier to keep positive thinking.
